RIYADH, April 27 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia's non-oil exports soared to an unprecedented 515 billion Saudi Riyals (US$137.33 billion) in 2024, marking a 13 per cent increase from 2023, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Saturday, Xinhua reported.
According to statistics from the Saudi Export Development Authority, the kingdom's robust export performance covered various sectors. Merchandise exports rose to 217 billion Saudi Riyals, with petrochemical and non-petrochemical exports growing by two per cent and nine per cent respectively.
Re-exports reached 90 billion Saudi Riyals, while services exports hit a historic 207 billion Saudi Riyals, up 14 per cent year-on-year.
The Saudi Export Development Authority CEO, Abdulrahman Althukair, attributed the milestone in non-oil exports to the kingdom's efforts in economic diversification and improved global market access for national products.
He reaffirmed the kingdom's commitment to supporting exporters through training, promotion, and advisory programmes.
According to the report, Saudi Arabia exported to over 180 countries in 2024, with petrochemical commodities constituting 68 per cent of the total export volume.
