BESTARI JAYA, Oct 9 (Bernama) -- The Eco World Foundation has donated the Kapsul Ilmu (Knowledge Capsule), a mini library, to Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) Bestari Jaya here, as part of the foundation’s ongoing commitment to empower education through the provision of modern, conducive and interactive learning facilities.

Eco World Foundation chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye said that the Knowledge Capsule, donated by Eco Ardence, an initiative under Eco World, serves as a learning centre and activity space to foster interest in reading and interactive learning among students.

“This Knowledge Capsule is not just a library; it symbolises our ongoing commitment to nurturing young minds and strengthening the schools we support under the Student Assistance Programme (SAP).

“Apart from providing financial assistance, we also strive to create a learning environment that inspires creativity, collaboration and curiosity,” he said when officiating the Knowledge Capsule (Multipurpose Kiosk) at the school here today.

Also present were Eco World Foundation trustees Tan Sri Mohd Radzi Sheikh Ahmad and Philip Mathews, Eco World Development Group Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Chang Khim Wah, and SJKT Bestari Jaya headmistress D. Pennarasi.

Lee said the mini library was completed within three weeks at a cost of RM42,000, making it the fourth Knowledge Capsule handed over by the foundation, in addition to three others built in other schools, with a total investment of RM204,000.

Equipped with air conditioning, an open layout, floor seating and simple furniture, the Knowledge Capsule also provides a relaxed space for teachers to discuss and share ideas, thereby promoting a culture of collaboration within the school.

Located on the school’s Laman Hijau, the capsule serves as a vibrant centre for extracurricular activities, further strengthening ties between students, teachers, the community and sponsors through the spirit of shared learning.

In addition, Lee said the mini library is equipped with internet access to support digital learning and artificial intelligence (AI) literacy, enabling students to complete computer-based assignments, explore educational platforms such as Kahoot, Duolingo and Prodigy Math, and record their reading progress through the Advanced Integrated Nilam System (AINS).

Lee expressed hope that students would make full use of the capsule while emphasising the importance of proper maintenance to ensure that future generations of students can also benefit from the contribution.

SJKT Bestari Jaya is one of the schools under the Eco World Foundation SAP initiative, with 32 students currently receiving assistance in the form of school uniforms, books and other necessities.

Nationwide, the initiative supports about 2,000 students annually, reflecting the foundation’s continued commitment to help underprivileged children remain in school and achieve their full potential.
