GOOD HEALTH, FAMILY HARMONY CRUCIAL FOR JOB SATISFACTION - PSYCHIATRIST

KANGAR, Oct 28 (Bernama) -- The key to enjoying work lies not only in the workplace environment but also in personal happiness and good health, said Tuanku Fauziah Hospital (HTF) Psychiatry Department head Dr Muhammad Zul Azri Muhammad Yusoff.

He said a fulfilling work experience begins at home, urging employees to maintain family harmony and prioritise their health as essential foundations for a positive work atmosphere.

"Pleasure in work exists when it originates from home. It’s rare to find someone who’s unhappy at home yet happy at work.

"When family life is not harmonious, it’s unrealistic to expect harmony at work. A happy home leads to a happy workplace," he said in his address at the "Pleasure of Working: Building a Fun Work Environment" forum during the Psychology Convention held at the Perlis Government Administrative Complex here today.

In addition to maintaining family harmony, Dr Muhammad Zul Azri highlighted the significance of good physical health in fostering job satisfaction.

He also urged employees to adopt healthy lifestyles, as physical well-being plays a crucial role in enjoying work.

He pointed out that the pleasure of working comes from within, fueled by personal motivation and a clear understanding of the purpose behind one's work. 

The convention, which focused on "Cultivating the Pleasure of Work: Psychological Well-being Towards High-Performance Organisations," was officiated by the state secretary, Datuk Rahimi Ismail.
