ALOR SETAR, Nov 9 (Bernama) -- Two more Myanmar migrants, believed to be victims of a boat sinking, were found floating near Tuas Kuala Muda, Teriang, Langkawi at around 3.11 pm today.

In a statement today, the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) said the discovery brings the total found so far to 13, including a woman who was found dead.

“MMEA received a call reporting two men floating in the area. They were rescued by local fishermen and later transferred to an MMEA vessel,” the agency said.

Earlier, MMEA Kedah and Perlis director First Admiral Romli Mustafa confirmed that a search-and-rescue operation (CARILAMAT) was activated in Langkawi waters following the boat sinking near Pulau Tarutao, close to the Malaysia–Thailand maritime border.

The operation began after several suspected Myanmar migrants were found in Langkawi waters yesterday.
