KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 18 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for this evening, with thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds expected to affect several states until 7 pm.
MetMalaysia, in a statement, said that the bad weather is expected to affect Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Johor, as well as several areas in Sarawak and Sabah.
In Penang, the affected areas are Seberang Perai Utara, Seberang Perai Tengah and Seberang Perai Selatan, while in Perak the warning covers Kerian, Larut, Matang dan Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta and Kampar.
In Kelantan, the severe weather is expected to hit Jeli, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang, whereas in Terengganu the warning applies to Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman.
In Pahang, bad weather is forecast in Cameron Highlands, Lipis and Jerantut, while in Selangor it is expected to hit Hulu Langat. In Negeri Sembilan, the warning covers Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, Jempol and Tampin.
A similar warning has also been issued for Johor, involving Kluang, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Bahru.
In Sarawak, the affected areas include Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Sarikei (Julau), Sibu (Kanowit), Kapit (Song and Bukit Mabong), Miri (Marudi) and Limbang, while in Sabah the warning covers Beaufort, Tawau (Tawau and Semporna) and Sandakan (Tongod).
