SABAH POLLS: BN CANDIDATE IN TANJUNG KERAMAT PLEDGES TO RESOLVE LONG-STANDING WATER WOES

Published : 21/11/2025 10:55 PM

PUTATAN, Nov 21 (Bernama) -- Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the 17th Sabah State Election in the Tanjung Keramat state seat, Jeffery Nor Mohamed, has pledged to resolve the long-standing water supply problems in the area.

Jeffery Nor, who is also Putatan UMNO Division chief, said water problems were no longer a basic issue but had become a daily burden affecting the lives of residents in the constituency.

“Who says only rural communities need blue tanks (to store water)… here in Putatan, we also need blue tanks because we face water issues.

“Therefore, the water issue is among the main matters I want to resolve if chosen as an assemblyman… looking at the record, BN has always understood the problems faced by the people, and I am confident we can solve this issue,” he said when speaking at the Tanjung Keramat Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) District Polling Centre (PDM) here today.

Commenting further, Jeffery Nor said resolving the water issue was part of BN Putatan’s approach to restoring public confidence in the coalition’s ability to govern with stability and effectiveness.

On the performance of his campaign so far, Jeffery Nor said public reception towards him as the BN candidate for Tanjung Keramat had been very encouraging over the past few days.

“I have gone into villages and held walkabouts at shop areas and ‘tamu’ (weekly markets)… I found that the people here want an assemblyman from BN, which is seen as capable of resolving their issues,” he said.

The Election Commission (EC) has set Nov 25 for early voting, while polling day is on Nov 29.
