SABAH NOTCHES FIRST SUPER LEAGUE WIN, IMIGRESEN FC DOWN PDRM FC 5-0

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 23 (Bernama) -- Sabah FC finally won their first Super League match this season after coming from behind twice to beat Penang FC 3-2 at home in Likas Stadium, Kota Kinabalu tonight.

The visitors took the lead through Dylan Wenzel-Halls in the 17th minute, but Sabah managed to equalise thanks to Ajdin Mujagic five minutes later, only to allow Wenzel-Halls to score his second goal of the match in the 39th minute to end the first half 2-1.

Rejuvenated after the half time break, Sabah’s efforts for an equaliser bore fruit in the 56th minute through a Muhammad Jafri Firdaus Chew goal, and finally Daniel Ting turned team hero when he scored what turned out to be the match-winning goal in the 71st minute.

Sabah’s first win propels them to ninth in the league with seven points after nine games, while Penang is 11th with five points.

In tonight’s other Super League match, Imigresen FC secured their second win this season in style, thrashing PDRM FC 5-0 in Batu Kawan Stadium, Penang.

The home team were already two goals ahead by halftime, with Mohd Fadzrul Danel Mohd Nizam scoring in the 19th minute and Joao Pedro in the 38th.

Elvis Kamsoba then scored a brace in the second half, his first in the 74th and second three minutes later, while substitute Mohammad Fayadh Mohd Zulkifli Amin tucked in the fifth and last goal in the last minute of the match.

Imigresen is now eighth in the rankings wth nine points, while PDRM is not far behind, 10th with seven points.
