KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 (Bernama) -- DRB-HICOM Bhd posted a net profit of RM60.62 million for the nine months ended Sept 30, 2025 from RM69.17 million previously, backed by stronger banking, automotive and services sectors.

Revenue for the period remained strong at RM12.74 billion versus RM12.23 billion supported by growth across key sectors including properties where its revenue grew 51.0 per cent to RM197.68 million from RM130.89 year-on-year, supported by progress from property concession development projects.

It said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today that its services arm rose 13 per cent in revenue to RM158.57 million, mainly attributable to a higher number of commercial vehicles undergoing inspections within the vehicle inspection business segment.

Meanwhile, its automotive arm’s revenue grew 4.6 per cent to RM8.84 billion compared to RM8.46 billion, mainly due to higher sales volume from Proton, supported by a favourable sales mix and increased contributions from automotive distribution companies.

However, DRB-HICOM posted a net loss of RM15.19 million in the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2025 (3Q), compared with a net loss of RM5.29 million in the same period last year.

Nevertheless, revenue increased by 8.6 per cent to RM4.49 billion from RM4.13 billion previously, mainly driven by the automotive, property, banking and services segments.

The group said that its net loss was mainly weighed down by a loss on the disposal of investment securities, which amounted to RM22.31 million in the current quarter compared with a loss of RM4.66 million previously.

“The banking sector achieved higher revenue, attributed to increased financing income. This was driven by growth in financing volume, supported by sustainable growth and a growing customer base,” it said.

Meanwhile, the properties sector recorded higher revenue, primarily contributed by property concession development projects.

On prospects, it said the group is committed to its digitalisation journey, optimising operations and strengthening efficiency across all segments.

“The acquisition of Spirit AeroSystems Malaysia Sdn Bhd will further strengthen Composites Technology Research Malaysia’s core expertise within global supply chains.

“In addition, the proposed acquisition, targeted for completion by year-end, is expected to accelerate growth, drive higher value creation and reinforce Malaysia’s capabilities in the global aerospace industry,” it added.
