KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 27 (Bernama) -- The National Registration Department (JPN) is providing free replacement of identification documents for flood victims who have lost or damaged their documents.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the replacement covered MyKad, birth certificates, death certificates, civil marriage certificates, citizenship certificates and other official JPN documents.
“In any disaster that befalls us, I want to remind all those affected to always prioritise the safety of themselves and their families. Insya-Allah, the Home Ministry and related agencies will help facilitate the documentation process for Malaysians affected by challenges such as the severe floods we are facing now.
“Insya-Allah, the MADANI Government remains committed to assisting the people, especially when faced with trials and difficulties, ensuring that all forms of aid are delivered swiftly, efficiently and with a focus on the people’s wellbeing,” he said in a Facebook post.
To ease public access, Saifuddin Nasution said JPN had also mobilised mobile replacement services to affected areas as soon as routes were safe to access.
