SHAH ALAM, Jan 9 (Bernama) -- Four royal outfits during key moments of the wedding of the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz are now on display at the Sultan Alam Shah Museum, as part of the Dirgahayu Cinta special exhibition.
The ensembles worn for the engagement, solemnisation, wedding, and royal banquet in October last year are highlights of the exhibition, conceived by Tengku Amir Shah.
Speaking at the opening ceremony today, Selangor Housing and Culture Committee chairman Datuk Borhan Aman Shah said the exhibition goes beyond showcasing the royal wedding, serving as a significant piece of heritage and historical documentation.
“The exhibition is designed not merely as a display of collections, but as a platform to appreciate the symbolic values, artistic refinement and courtly traditions that underpin Selangor’s identity and sense of self.
“It gives the people of Selangor and Malaysians a closer, informative look at the Royal Institution, while also documenting royal heritage to preserve its traditions and symbolic values for future generations,” he said.
Tengku Amir Shah dan Afzaa Fadini later officiated the exhibition, which runs from today to May 31.
The Dirgahayu Cinta theme reflects prayers and hopes that the royal couple’s love and marriage will flourish and endure throughout their lives.
Borhan said the exhibition is the museum’s first of its kind and will form part of the state’s long-term historical and heritage record.
“Since reopening nearly a year ago, the Sultan Alam Shah Museum has seen a strong response, recording 140,000 visitors, local and international,” he said, projecting that the special exhibition will boost visitor numbers, especially during school holidays.
He also thanked the Sultan Abdul Aziz Royal Gallery, Selangor Sultan and Raja Muda Offices, Perbadanan Adat Melayu dan Warisan Negeri Selangor (PADAT), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam City Council and all others involved in the exhibition.
Borhan added that plans are underway to hold another special exhibition at the museum to mark the 25th anniversary of Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah’s reign in Selangor.
Tengku Amir Shah and Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini were united in matrimony during the Royal Wedding Ceremony at Masjid Istana Diraja, Istana Alam Shah, Klang, on Oct 2, 2025.
The Royal Reception was celebrated with full regal splendour at Balairung Seri, Istana Alam Shah, on Oct 22, 2025.
