KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 24 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Cup defending champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) advanced to the 2025/2026 Malaysia Cup quarterfinals after beating PDRM FC 1-0 in the second leg of the round-of-16 match at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri today.

The defending champions raked up an 11-1 aggregate win to set up a quarterfinal meeting against Melaka FC, who shocked Sabah FC with a 5-2 aggregate win.

In today’s match the five-time cup winners dominated almost the entirety of the match from the start, but were unable to score in the first half.

The Southern Tigers scored the solitary goal of the match in the 66th minute through Spaniard Teto Martin.

PDRM FC managed to deny JDT from scoring, a small consolation that did nothing to change their elimination from this year’s edition.
