DHAKA, Feb 13 (Bernama-UNB) -- Dhaka remained unusually calm and largely empty a day after the national election, as a holiday mood continued to grip the capital, United News of Bangladesh (UNB) reported.
Major thoroughfares and flyovers that are typically choked with traffic wore a deserted look, with only a handful of vehicles seen plying the roads.
The absence of the usual rush of buses, rickshaws and private cars lent an almost tranquil atmosphere to the urban landscape.
The lull comes amid a four-day holiday declared around the election, allowing many residents to travel outside the city or remain at home.
