KOTA KINABALU, Feb 14 (Bernama) -- The number of flood evacuees in Beaufort district remained at 312 people from 121 families as of 4pm today, said the Sabah State Disaster Management secretariat.
In a statement today, the secretariat said all evacuees from eight affected villages had been placed at the Selagon Permanent Relief Centre after the district was hit by floods last Thursday due to continuous rain.
Meanwhile, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has forecast thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds across several interior districts of Sabah, particularly in Nabawan and Tambunan, until 6pm today.
Similar weather conditions are also expected on the West Coast, affecting Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu and Ranau and Tawau, as well as Telupid, Tongod and Kinabatangan in Sandakan.
