KOTA KINABALU, March 4 (Bernama) -- The Sabah Immigration Department (JIM) screened 41 suspected undocumented migrants in an enforcement operation at three locations in Ranau yesterday.
In a statement today, Sabah JIM said 29 of those inspected were detained, comprising 11 men, eight women, five boys and five girls.
“All individuals were picked up on suspicion of offences under the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Act 155) and the Immigration Regulations 1963,” the statement said.
The Sabah JIM said firm action would continue against anyone found harbouring or employing undocumented migrants.
Members of the public were urged to cooperate by providing information on the presence of undocumented foreign nationals in their areas.
