SHORTLIST OF CANDIDATES FOR TERENGGANU FC HEAD COACH POSITION READY - AHMAD SAMSURI

KUALA TERENGGANU, Oct 2 (Bernama) -- Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar has confirmed that several candidates have been shortlisted to fill the head coach vacancy at Terengganu FC (TFC).

This follows the announcement by Terengganu Football Club Sdn Bhd (TFCSB) that Tomislav Steinbruckner, 58, has stepped down from his position, effective immediately.

While Ahmad Samsuri declined to disclose the names of the candidates, he assured that the matter would be handled appropriately.

“I don’t want to comment further. Let’s solve it first to avoid hurting anyone’s feelings. The absence of a coach doesn’t mean things are left hanging, we will handle it as best we can,” he said.

Steinbruckner's contract was ended  by mutual agreement, with assistant coaches Badrul Afzan Razali and Hairudin Omar temporarily taking over his duties.

Steinbruckner faced criticism from fans after the team lost five consecutive matches, the latest being against Selangor at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium last Saturday.

Additionally, Ahmad Samsuri promised to resolve the salary arrears involving former TFC striker Adisak Kraison, which amounts to five figures.

“It requires careful attention to prevent recurrence. Payments will be made shortly,” he said.

Earlier, TFCSB CEO Mohd Sabri Abas acknowledged the salary arrears for the Thai-born player dating back to December, which have reached five figures.

He explained that the payment delays were due to the need to clarify various matters with third parties, including housing, vehicle rentals, and other contractual obligations.
