KUALA LUMPUR, April 6 (Bernama) -- Perak FC showcased a spirited comeback to shock Kuala Lumpur (KL) City FC 2-1 in a Super League 2024/2025 action at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium in Cheras here today.

The visitors who were trailing in the first half, saw Azfar Fikri Azhar emerge as their hero with a winning strike in the 81st minute to give his team a valuable three points and take up seventh position in the league with 27 points, closely trailing KL City in sixth position by only one point.

Earlier, the first half of the match which took place in the rain, saw both teams exhibit a balanced pattern of play with each trying to find space to break the deadlock.

KL City however, broke the deadlock through Paulo Josue's goal in the 31st minute.

Continuing in the second half, Yusri Che Lah's men desperately searched for an equaliser through several dangerous attempts towards the opponent's goal, before being awarded a penalty kick which Luciano Guaycochea managed to finish in the 77th minute.

The equaliser gave Perak FC the much needed boost to launch attack after attack before the 81st minute goal from Azfar secured the victory.
