MARINI FASTEST IN MOTOGP FREE PRACTICE 2 AT SEPANG

SEPANG, Oct 25 (Bernama) -- Italian rider Luca Marini continued his impressive campaign at the 2025 Malaysian Grand Prix MotoGP by clocking the fastest time in the Free Practice 2 (FP2) session at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) here today.

The Honda HRC Castrol rider recorded a time of 1 minute 58.415 seconds, edging out Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team’s Franco Morbidelli, who finished second with 1:58.422s, while Ducati Lenovo Team’s Francesco Bagnaia came in third with 1:58.585s.

In the Moto2 class, Britain’s Jake Dixon from Elf Marc VDS Racing Team maintained his strong momentum from yesterday, setting the fastest lap at 2:03.633s.

Aron Canet of Fantic Racing was second with 2:03.642s, followed by Daniel Munoz from Red Bull KTM Ajo in third at 2:03.680s.

The FP2 session, however, proved a tough outing for Malaysian wildcard riders Azroy Hakeem Anuar and Muhammad Helmi Azman of Petronas MIE Racing RW, who finished 28th and last respectively.

In the Moto3 class, Japan’s Ryusei Yamanaka from FRINSA - MT Helmets put on a fine display, setting the fastest lap with 2:10.160s.

David Almansa of Leopard Racing finished second with 2:10.253s, while his teammate Adrian Fernandez took third with 2:10.358s.

Malaysia’s young rider Muhammad Hakim Danish Ramli, representing Aeon Credit SIC Racing, delivered an encouraging performance by finishing sixth with a time of 2:10.576s.
