BAM CONDEMNS ONLINE ABUSE AGAINST NATIONAL SHUTTLERS

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 27 (Bernama) -- The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) has expressed concern over recent incidents of online abuse and threats directed at national players.

In a statement today, BAM said the safety and wellbeing of athletes remained its utmost priority.

“There is absolutely no place for hate, intimidation, or discrimination in badminton or in society. The safety and wellbeing of our athletes remain our utmost priority.

“BAM strongly condemns such behaviour and urges everyone to express their views with respect and positivity,” read the statement.

At the same time, BAM said it would continue to monitor the situation closely and support the players wherever needed.
