VIETNAMESE CITIZENS ADVISED TO URGENTLY LEAVE LEBANON

24/09/2024 02:39 PM

HANOI, Sept 24 (Bernama-VNA) -- The Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt and Lebanon on Monday (Sept 23) issued an urgent notice recommending that Vietnamese citizens living and working in Lebanon leave the country while commercial flights are still operational, amid escalating and spreading conflict in the region.

Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported that the embassy also advised Vietnamese citizens planning to travel to the Middle East to suspend or cancel their trips until the situation stabilises.

For those living and working in Lebanon, the embassy emphasised that if they are unable to leave the country due to force majeure, they should remain vigilant, closely monitor local media, avoid large gatherings, and stay away from the Lebanon-Israel border, southern Beirut, and northern areas near the Syrian border.

The embassy urged Vietnamese citizens to seek temporary shelters in safer areas and stock up on food and medicine in case the situation worsens.
