AL-AZHAR AL-SHARIF CONDEMNS ISRAELI INCURSION IN LEBANON

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 25 (Bernama) -- The Egyptian religious institution, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, has strongly condemned the Zionist Israeli incursion into several areas in southern and eastern Lebanon, which has claimed the lives of hundreds of civilians, including women and children.

According to a statement from the Egyptian Embassy in Malaysia to Bernama today, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif also expressed its full solidarity with the people of Lebanon in the face of the Zionist regime's aggression.

The institution called on the international community to take immediate action to halt the Zionist attacks on Palestine and Lebanon.

It stated that the Zionist occupier’s assault on Lebanon demonstrated its criminal intent and ongoing efforts to turn the Middle East into a battlefield.

Moreover, it added that the Zionist regime’s attacks have expanded the scope of the conflict to include other nations and regions after turning the Gaza Strip into a landscape of destroyed buildings and a sea of innocent blood.

“Where is the international community in preventing this arrogant terrorist regime? Why are all parties silent in the face of violence that allows the killing of men, women, and children indiscriminately, without mercy? And why has the world ceased to respond to the cries of women and children in Palestine and Lebanon? Is it because of shared strategic interests with this terrorist entity? Or has the conscience of all international parties died?” the embassy said, quoting Al-Azhar’s statement.

Al-Azhar also called on the international community to take immediate action to halt the ongoing aggression by the Zionist regime, extended condolences to the families of the victims, and completely rejected any violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty and its territories.
