VIETNAM'S DURIAN EXPORT TURNOVER TOPS US$4 BLN IN 2025

08/01/2026 02:06 PM

HANOI, Jan 8 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- Vietnam's durian export turnover reached about US$4 billion in 2025, accounting for nearly 50 per cent of the country's total fruit and vegetable export value, stated local daily Nhan Dan on Thursday, reported Xinhua.

According to the Foreign Trade Agency under Vietnam's Industry and Trade Ministry, China remains the dominant market, continuing to play a decisive role in driving the growth trend of the durian industry.

Durian exports declined in the first half of the year as China tightened controls on pesticide residue levels and technical standards, the report said.

From the third quarter of 2025, exports rebounded as enterprises stepped up the standardisation of growing areas, packing facility codes and traceability systems, while relevant authorities worked closely to address technical bottlenecks.

By the end of November 2025, Vietnam's durian exports to China reached nearly 885,000 tonnes, worth US$3.24 billion, according to the report.
