SINGAPORE, Feb 25 (Bernama) -- Singaporeans in Mexico have been advised to exercise a high degree of caution and remain vigilant regarding the latest developments there, said the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
In a travel advisory issued on Tuesday, the ministry said Singapore citizens in Mexico should monitor local news, avoid travel to high-risk states, heed local authorities' advice, and avoid large crowds, protests and demonstrations.
"They should take all necessary precautions, familiarise themselves with local laws, and purchase comprehensive travel and medical insurance.
"Singaporeans are strongly encouraged to eRegister with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at eregister.mfa.gov.sg and stay in touch with family and friends," it said.
The advisory was issued following reports of security incidents in several Mexican states, including Jalisco, Tamaulipas, Michoacan, Guerrero and Nuevo Leon.
