1.BAGO DAM SUSTAINS WATER SUPPLY TO FARMERS -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 

The Pyu Creek Dam in the Bago Region can irrigate about 18,000 acres of summer paddy fields. The dam stores and regulates water flowing from the Bago mountains, supporting the agricultural and livestock sectors while generating electricity.

 

2.MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 

The Mandalay Region government will host a ceremony to mark the one-year anniversary of the earthquake that occurred on March 28, 2021. Thousands of people perished and properties were destroyed in the massive 7.7 magnitude earthquake.

A symposium themed“China in the New Spring” was held in Vientiane to deepen Laos-China cooperation. Both governments will focus on digital innovation, green development and regional connectivity.

 

2.EXPERTS DEACTIVATE 227 KG BOMB -- VIENTIANE TIMES 

Experts neutralised a bomb weighing about 227 kilogrammes after it was unearthed in Attapeu province last week. Local residents found the bomb and alerted the authorities, who helped to deactivate the explosive.
