BAGHDAD, March 25 (Bernama-QNA) -- The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority extended on Wednesday the closure of air traffic in the country for an additional 72 hours, due to the continued security tensions in the region, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
In a press statement, the authority announced the extension of airspace closure to all arriving, departing and transit flights, starting from midday until noon next Saturday.
The authority described the decision as a temporary precautionary measure.
The authority explained that this decision was based on the continued assessment of the security situation and regional developments, noting that the decision will be subject to periodic review in line with developments.
Airlines and relevant authorities will be notified of any further updates.
