OCM RECEIVES 34 NOMINATIONS FOR 2025-2029 TERM COMMITTEE ELECTIONS

KUALA LUMPUR, April 9 (Bernama) -- A total of 34 ordinary member affiliates of the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) have submitted nominations to contest positions at the council's upcoming committee elections for the 2025-2029 term, scheduled to take place on April 19.

In a statement, OCM said all nomination forms were submitted to the Independent Panel comprising Court of Appeal Judge Datuk Seri Mohd Firuz Jaffril, High Court Judge Datuk Anand Ponnudurai, and licensed tax agent with the Ministry of Finance (MoF) Datuk Harjit Singh Sidhu.

“The Independent Panel, chaired by Datuk Seri Mohd Firuz Jaffril, will verify all nominations received from the 34 affiliates.

"The panel will also conduct background checks with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, Royal Malaysia Police and the Malaysian Department of Insolvency before announcing the list of eligible candidates on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 11.00 am,” the statement said.

The election for OCM office-bearers will involve 12 posts, namely president , deputy president (one position), and vice-president (five seats).

It will also cover the posts of secretary-general, assistant secretary-general (two positions, of different genders), treasurer (one position), and assistant treasurer (one position).
