KANGAR, April 13 (Bernama) -- Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) notched another feather on its cap when it achieved an impressive 98.9 per cent graduate marketability rate in 2024, up from 97.7 per cent the previous year.
Its Vice-Chancellor, Prof Datuk Dr Zaliman Sauli, said the rate reflected the university's continued commitment to ensuring its graduates are knowledgeable, competent, presentable, and ready to compete in a challenging job market.
"This achievement demonstrates UniMAP's efforts to strengthen strategic relationships with industries, government agencies, and the community while offering education based on industry needs, yielding positive results.
"Various initiatives have been implemented, including programmes based on TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training), comprehensive practical training, strong industry collaboration, and ongoing career guidance for students," he said in a statement tonight.
Zaliman said UniMAP's graduate employment rate also showed an increase, reaching 98.8 per cent - the highest since the university's establishment in 2002.
According to the Higher Education Ministry, the marketability rate includes employed graduates pursuing further studies, undergoing skills enhancement programmes, or awaiting job placement.
