IIM AIMS TO NURTURE INTEGRITY FROM YOUNG THROUGH NEW MODULE

22/10/2025 09:08 PM

PUTRAJAYA, Oct 22 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Institute of Integrity (IIM) is developing an integrity module for preschool children as part of efforts to instil the value of integrity from a young age.

IIM president and chief executive officer Datuk Ahmad Ramdzan Daud said the module was currently in the pilot phase and expected to be fully completed by 2026.

“At present, several universities have been appointed to do the research because of the age differences involved.

“The module for children aged two to four years differs from that for those aged four to six. Therefore, we need to see the feedback on the module,” he said after the National Integrity Premier Address and the Integrity, Governance and Anti-Corruption Awards (AIGA) 2025, officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim here today.

Ahmad Ramdzan said the introduction of the module was part of the MADANI government’s efforts to strengthen integrity in society as a whole.

“If we do not start early, it will be very difficult to nurture integrity at the secondary or adult levels,” he said.

On AIGA 2025, Ahmad Ramdzan expressed hope that more public and private sector entities would participate in the awards next year.

“The assessment this time was conducted very strictly in terms of scoring for both the public and private sectors.

“We look at how governance, integrity, and anti-corruption practices are implemented by each organisation,” he said, adding that IIM would take the lead in promoting and institutionalising integrity within both the public and private sectors.

At AIGA 2025, Pasir Gudang City Council (MBPG) and Duopharma Biotech Bhd were named recipients of the Prime Minister’s Award for the public and private sector categories, respectively.

The prestigious awards were presented by Anwar after he delivered the National Integrity Premier Address, which marked the start of the National Integrity Month celebration held every November.

Both organisations were recognised for their strong commitment to making integrity, governance and anti-corruption culture a core part of their organisational operations.

As recipients of the Prime Minister’s Award, both organisations received a certificate, trophy and an RM50,000 cash prize.
