JOHOR BAHRU, March 25 (Bernama) -- The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has signed a two-year partnership worth nearly RM2 million with Carsome, naming the homegrown automotive leader as the Official Automotive Partner of the national football teams.
The partnership highlights both parties' shared commitment to advance Malaysian football especially as the men’s and women’s national teams gear up for another exciting season.
As part of the partnership, Carsome will support FAM in enhancing the national teams' readiness by providing critical resources and logistical support, including 15 top-tier vehicle models over the next two years to ensure reliable and comfortable travel for the teams, management, and staff.
FAM president Datuk Mohd Joehari Mohd Ayub in his speech said the collaboration reflects the shared commitment of both parties in enhancing Malaysian football.
“Both FAM and Carsome share the mutual passion for excellence, innovation, and community engagement, values that are essential both in football and beyond.
“Through this partnership, we aim to enhance the football experience for players, fans and stakeholders by fostering initiatives that promote development, accessibility and support for the local football ecosystem,” he said at the signing ceremony of the agreement between FAM and Carsome here, today.
Carsome chief executive officer (CEO) Eric Cheng, who has long been passionate about football, stressed the importance of supporting the national team.
“At Carsome, we believe in supporting the aspirations of Malaysians whether in business, education or sports. This partnership goes beyond providing transportation; it is our effort to drive champions forward by ensuring Malaysia’s national teams have the support and infrastructure to excel,” he said.
Apart from providing vehicles, the group’s education arm, Carsome Academy will also offer exclusive discounts and referral incentives to national team players and FAM members for automotive TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training), soft skills and technical skills programmes.
Earlier, the agreement was signed by FAM secretary-general Datuk Noor Azman Rahman and Eric, witnessed by Mohd Joehari and Carsome co-founder and Carsome Academy CEO Teoh Jiun Ee.
