BACHOK, Nov 22 (Bernama) -- A temporary relief centre was opened in Bachok last night following flooding caused by continuous heavy rain, with an alert-level warning issued since yesterday.

According to the Department of Social Welfare's (JKM) Info Bencana portal, the centre is housing 43 victims from 12 families from one affected village.

Meanwhile, a check by Bernama found several areas in Kampung Budi, Tawang, remain submerged, with water levels rising to cover village roads and residents' yards.

Daily activities have been disrupted, including vehicle movement, and many residents have relocated their cars to higher ground.

Additionally, fire department trucks and rescue personnel were seen in the area to assess the situation and ensure the safety of residents.

Yesterday, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued an alert-level continuous rain warning for Kelantan and Terengganu until Wednesday (Nov 26).
