KUANTAN, Nov 24 (Bernama) -- A local man, along with five Indonesian workers, were arrested on suspicions of mining gold illegally in Kampung Bolok, Temerloh.
General Operations Force (GOF) Southeast Brigade commander SAC Ahmad Radzi Hussain said the men, 25 to 38, were arrested in a joint operation with the Pahang state enforcement unit at 8 am last Saturday.
“The operations team seized two excavators, a lorry, a water pump and pans worth over RM1.14 million,” he said in a statement today.
The seized items were handed to the Pahang state enforcement unit while the suspects were taken to the Temerloh district police headquarters for further action, he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 158 of the Pahang State Minerals Enactment 2001, Section 55(b) and 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
