NEGERI SEMBILAN GOVT MULLS WFH ARRANGEMENTS

SEREMBAN, April 1 (Bernama) -- The Negeri Sembilan State Government is ready to consider work-from-home (WFH) arrangements for state administration as a measure to reduce fuel consumption.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the state is currently collecting data on employees who reside outside Negeri Sembilan to determine the next steps before WFH is implemented.

“We are examining how many employees live outside Negeri Sembilan but work here. If the number is significant, we will consider implementing WFH and make a decision as soon as possible,” he told reporters after chairing a meeting of the state executive council here today.

Meanwhile, he said that the state’s seven major dams continue to maintain stable water levels and remain under control, despite the recent prolonged hot weather.

In a separate development, Aminuddin, who is also the state Islamic Religious Affairs and Security Committee chairman, said that 300 individuals have so far participated in guidance and advocacy programmes conducted by the Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JHEAINS) to restore their understanding of Islam in accordance with Ahli Sunnah Waljamaah teachings.

He said the spread of deviant teachings in the state has been actively monitored since 2020, with some groups operating covertly and targeting individuals with limited religious knowledge.

“However, these teachings are not confined to this state alone. Negeri Sembilan serves as a strategic route for such groups and as a stopover after they have been acted against or declared deviant in other states,” he said.

Aminuddin added that to date, 12 cases have been prosecuted in court.

The Negeri Sembilan Mufti Department has previously declared several teachings as deviant, including the anti-hadith group, Tapediri 65 (Ba Tha Mim 114), Hizbut Tahrir, Ibrahim Mat Zin, Zikir Alunan Zat Cinta/Hikmah Al-Fatihah, and Millah Abraham.

He said the state government, through JHEAINS, will continue to intensify monitoring and enforcement to ensure any form of deviation in creed can be curbed at an early stage.
