PADANG RENGAS, Nov 22 (Bernama) -- A total of RM1.12 million has been allocated for the development of Kampung Padang Asam under the MADANI Village Adoption Programme, aimed at improving basic facilities and enhancing residents’ well-being.
Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM) Director-General Datuk Anis Rizana Mohd Zainudin said that of the total allocation, RM820,000 was used to implement 10 basic infrastructure projects, while another RM300,000 was set aside for various community programmes in the village.
“All of the basic infrastructure projects have been completed. The upgraded areas include Kampung Padang Asam, Masjid Al-Khairiyah, Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kampung Asam, and Sekolah Rendah Agama Rakyat Kampung Padang Asam.
“Among the projects carried out are road maintenance, installation of solar-powered streetlights, construction of well water storage tanks and bathrooms and upgrading of parking lots,” she said at the closing and handing over of the JKDM MADANI Village Adoption programme at Masjid Al-Khairiyah here today.
Also present were JKDM Deputy Director-General (Management) Abu Bakar Jambol and Perak Customs director Mohd Nadzri Ariffin.
Anis Rizana highlighted that the successful implementation of the infrastructure projects was made possible through close cooperation with the Kuala Kangsar Land and District Office, State Education Department and GiatMARA, as the implementing agency.
“The approach adopted involves cross-agency collaboration, known as the ‘whole-of-government’ approach. It ensures that each selected village receives comprehensive and appropriate basic infrastructure to meet the needs of the community,” she said.
He expressed hope that all completed projects would be fully utilised and bring tangible benefits, especially to the residents of the village.
